The Challenge continued today with Durrrr taking down just over $200,000 in just over 1,000 hands played. Durrrr has now taken the lead in this heads up dual with around $150,000 overall profit in just under 4,000 hands of action since the two started. Both players made a side bet of 1k on the Gus Hansen fight against Theo Jorgensen on Gus Hansen TV. Durrrr had his money on Gus and Patrik had Theo Jorgensen who won by decision.

Lots of game left for the two to play so please check back soon.

Part 2 begun just after the higher stakes games died off and it was a very swingy session with only 3 big pots over 100k, 2 won by Patrik and one by Durrrr. In my opinion neither player outplayed the other in this session and as far as these stakes go it was rather normal.

Over all Patrik Antonius came up $191,000 for the session due to a couple good coin flips in his favor and that makes Patrik up just over $56,000 for the challenge thus far. Just under 3,000 hands played out of 50,000.

After the last hand was played both players agreed to play again very soon, possibly even tomorrow as long as the bigger games didn’t conflict with the session. Believe me readers this game is just getting warm… Check back soon for updates.

If Patrik wants to win the $1.5 million at hand he’ll have to beat Durrrr in 50k hands of 4-tabling Heads-up play. Patrik is not off to a good start as he just finished play of day one with the blinds 200/400 PLO at Full Tilt Poker down over six figures.

The two pros played a total of just over 1,500 hands, aprox 3% of the 50,000 hands required in the competition. At the end of the days action Durrrr was up $134,911.50.

Antonius said yesterday that he expects the challenge to take anywhere between four and six months to complete. Durrrr is known for playing thousands of hands a day and will likely play other challengers at the same time. Both players are extremely competitive and will likely finish out the bet but if one player happens to throw in the towel he has to pay the bet off. There is no set schedule to Durrrr’s Challenge as both Pros have crazy schedules so please check back daily as whenever anything happens I will be sure to update this blog. Also follow the action live in the PLO section on FTP.

The infamous “Durrrr Challenge” is getting under way. In January the New Jersey born 23 year old Tom Dwan aka “Durrrr” announced that he would lay 3-1 odds($1,500,000 to $500,000)side action at either No Limit Holdem or Pot Limit Omaha High. Dwan said that he is willing to play any player in the world at these odds and conditions below except for Phil Galfond aka “OMGCLAYAIKEN”. On a side note: Phil Galfond said that Dwan’s statement was the biggest honor he has received as a poker player.

The terms of the game are as follows,
-The two players must play 50,000 hands at the agreed game
-Blinds are to be at least $200/$400
-Every session must be at least 3% of the 50,000 hands
-Players must play 4 heads up tables at the same time

In order to accommodate this action, Full Tilt Poker has setup 4 tables titled “Durrrr Challenge” in the Pot Limit Omaha High section. They have set no limit to the amount either player can buy in for so the action is sure to be BIG. It is reported that 3 players have already signed up for the challenge. Phil Ivey, David Benyamine and Patrik Antonious. Patrik Antonius is scheduled to play Durrrr first.
