He needs somebody’s Helppi
Wednesday, April 29th, 2009
Juha Helppi is done in Monte Carlo, sent home by Philipe Saint-Andre. If I was gonna see my tournament hopes crushed on day two, I’d like it to be by a guy with a name like ‘Philipe Saint-Andre’. Just sounds so old world bond Monaco French Riviera elegant. Like if Helppi was busted by a guy named Randy Johnson or something - that would be all common and sucky. But ‘Saint-Andre’? Elegant, classy way to go down…
Random Fact
Wednesday, April 29th, 2009
Did you know that citizens of Monaco are legally not allowed into the casino? How crazy is that? You have to be an actual foreigner and show id/passport and everything… Imagine if citizens of Nevada couldn’t go into the casino. It would be madness!!!

Luck Not A Lady
Wednesday, April 29th, 2009
I am always sad to see a lady bust out. And Katja Thater is pretty and wears a cute furry hat. She looks like when this tournament is over, she is activating her glow stick and heading to a rave. Since she just busted out, I will try to talk her into picking me up on the way to said rave. I have a hoola hoop and some lolipops. I want to borrow her hat, though.

Woman Goes Down
Wednesday, April 29th, 2009
I didn’t mean it like that, you perverts. Jeez. Minds out of the gutter, por favor. Evelyn Ng is done in Monte Carlo. I, for one, am happy for her. Now she has all this free time in which to enjoy Monaco. May I suggest a spa day? Or a lovely walk on the beach? So much to do… Is she still twittering? I hate twittering. For one, it’s called “twittering”. For another, it’s all limited and pushy. What are we? Tweens?
Goodbye Cruel World
Wednesday, April 29th, 2009
We have some men down.
Devilfish was taken down by Dag Palovic and saw his tournament hopes crushed.
Gavin Griffin was finished off by Ami Baren who had the decency to show some remorse. He’s good looking and his name is “Gavin”, for Christ’s sake, so he will be OK. At my house. I’ll even cook something for him. Nothing fancy… mac and cheese maybe. Not coz I don’t want to cook something fancy. It’s just that I can’t cook. And at this tournament, neither can Gavin.

Round 4 just began, folks. Blinds are 150/300. The Ante is 0. Better check yo-self! Or raise yo-self. Or call. Just don’t fold yo-self. Unless you got dealt some stinkers and you need to run…
A Thew Good Men
Wednesday, April 29th, 2009
Julian Thew is down just around 16k and the way I hear tell it, he has yet to win a hand. His troubles began right away when he lost just around 3k on his first hand! Seems the top pair he flopped was not enough. To make matters worse, his table mates taste blood in the water and are raising big at every turn.
Monte Carlo Yo!

We are in Monte Carlo, y’all! Land of royalty and untold riches. Can I get a witness?!
Hansen Juicing It Up
Wednesday, April 29th, 2009
With a pot of over 15k, Gus Hansen looked down at all the upturned cards that made up the flop/turn and river: 9cQsJc4s3c. After his opponent called, Hansen turned over his pair of pretty Queens. Yup, he had his hands on three pretty ladies, beating his opponent’s two pairs (he had Js9s). His opponent said “nice hand”. Indeed.

Constant Wins
Thursday, April 23rd, 2009
Constant Rijkenberg raises to 250k and Kalle Niemi 3bets to 850k. Constant snap calls.
The flop comes up 3s5sTh. Kalle bets half pot and Constant calls. Turn is 5h and without much hesitation Niemi goes all in. Constant calls and turns over AA which is currently way ahead of Niemi’s ATdd.
After what was probably the longest pause between a turn and a river that Rijkenberg has ever felt, the 4h became the final river card and closed the door on Niemi’s tournament.

Congrats Constant.
Kalle Calls and wins
Thursday, April 23rd, 2009
Pre flop: Constant raises to 325k and Kalle calls. The flop reveals Qc8s10d. Kalle checks but Constant can’t resist betting 525k. Kalle reraises. Constant passes and give him the pot.
